Mumbai, June 14, 2014: Genesis Foundation today brought together 10 CEOs from the corporate world of Mumbai on a common platform at Genesis Foundation’s CEOs Sing for GF Kids, held at the ITC Grand Central Mumbai, where they sang to save lives of 6 underprivileged critically ill children. These CEOs demonstrated their singing talent with their repertoires ranging from Bruce Springsteen to Kishore Kumar songs, to raise funds for GF Kids!
The audience was spell bound with renditions of songs like “Phoolone ke Rang Se..”, by Hitesh Gajaria, Partner, KPMG, Piano Man and Take it Easy by Brian Tellis and All of Me and The Circle of Life by Mehmod Curmally.
Prema Sagar, Founding Trustee of Genesis Foundation said, “Who thought that the contribution of a voice can change the life of a child. CEOs have come out of the closet to sing in public and as Shirish Joshi of Godrej said – what better than enjoying what we do that results in saving lives of such young critically ill children.” “Every year the event and the donations get bigger and we are able to treat more children”, she added.
On this occasion, Genesis Foundation did the first public screening of a short film on GF’s activities. The film curated by noted film maker Ketan Mehta, show cases the work GF does with critically ill children, hospitals and fundraising events. Ketan Mehta, who could not be present due to prior commitments, in his message said, “Health as they say is wealth and Genesis Foundation is indeed creating a true wealth – that is inclusive and not exclusive. Great work!”
Deepa Sahi, well known actress and film producer, in her message said, “It is organisations like Genesis Foundation that restore my faith in humanity in these cynical times where money is considered the only purpose of life! Thank you Prema and Jyoti Sagar and all the volunteers of Genesis Foundation, who are showing the world how to give, not just take…”.
Entry to this fundraiser was through donor passes and the funds raised from CEOs Sing for GF Kids will be utilised by Genesis Foundation to provide financial support for life-saving and life-changing medical intervention for 6 critically ill under-privileged children.
In order to raise resources to facilitate medical assistance to GF Kids, GF has created unique participative fund-raising events involving music, art and food. Some of these events are: The Kasauli Rhythm & Blues Festival, JadhavGADH Music Festival, CEOs Sing for GF Kids, CEOs Cook for GF Kids, Musical Evenings, Art Shows, Theatre, etc. GF is also the beneficiary of CEOs Got Talent, produced by FremantleMedia.
