The thought behind the cause
Over the years, CEOs Sing for GF Kids has become a platform for supporting critically ill children from under-privileged backgrounds to Give Life a Chance. In keeping with the Foundation’s purpose to build a participatory culture of giving, musically-inclined CEOs
come together to raise funds for these children. The uniqueness of CEOs Sing for GF Kidslies in its ability to give otherwise busy corporate honchos an opportunity to indulge and showcase their own passion while raising resources for the lesser privileged in the same beat.
About the little lives that would be supported
Each initiative by Genesis Foundation focuses on providing support for children suffering from cancer, cardiac disorders, post organ transplant care, thalassemia, and extreme physical deformities. The treatment of these ailments is prohibitive for parents of children from under-privileged backgrounds, and that is where the Foundation comes in. Some of the expected beneficiaries of the 14th CEOs Sing for GF Kids 2015, to be held in Bengaluru, include 18-year- old Ruban from Tamil Nadu who suffered from severe chest pain and was then diagnosed with chronic constrictive pericarditis and requires a closed heart surgery. Tragically, his father passed away so the family depends on the mother’s meager earning of Rs. 2,000 per month as a porter. Similarly, 2-month-old Dakshata from Tamil Nadu suffers from congenital heart disease and requires a closed heart surgery for coarctation repair of the aorta. Eight other children, besides Ruban and Dakshata, will be supported by this edition of the event. (See attachment)
Genesis Foundation’s other fundraising initiatives
In order to raise awareness and resources to facilitate medical assistance to GF Kids, GF has created unusual and unique participative fundraising events involving music, art and food. Some of these events are Kasauli Rhythm & Blues Festival, CEOs Cook for GF Kids, Music for Life events, among others. This year will see the addition of another musical event called the Goa Rhythm & Blues Festival, scheduled for October 30-31, 2015 at Taj Aguada, Goa. GF is also the beneficiary of CEO’s Got Talent, produced by FremantleMedia.
