CEOs Cook for GF Kids, Gurgaon 2016: Press Release


Some of the country’s top CEOs show off their culinary skills to raise funds for 8 critically ill children

 

Gurgaon, January 29th, 2016: In an initiative to help save lives of 8 critically ill and underprivileged children, Genesis Foundation is all geared up to host ‘CEOs Cook for GF Kids’ on February 6, 2016 at Crown Plaza Today, Gurgaon. Contributing towards the treatment of children, 8 CEOs and industry leaders will show off their culinary skills and prepare gourmet meals for the attendees at the event. Each of these attendees will buy plates or tables to support the cause and enjoy a relaxing fun-filled winter afternoon.

The event will see competition among CEOs who will don the chef hats for a dish of their choice and serve to a crowd full of enthusiastic attendees. The funds raised from ‘CEOs Cook for GF Kids’ will be utilised by Genesis Foundation to provide financial support for life-saving and life-changing medical intervention for 8 critically ill, under-privileged children.

‘CEOs Cook for GF Kids’ as a unique fund-raiser was first held on January 15, 2005 at the Nandiya Gardens, Maurya Sheraton & Towers, New Delhi. This event pioneered the practice of participatory fund-raising at Genesis Foundation. Since then, ten more successful lunches have been organised in Delhi, Gurgaon, and Bangalore, allowing heads of various organisations to enable Genesis Foundation’s vision. The most recent edition of the event even saw heads of diplomatic missions joining in to cook for the cause!

Genesis Foundation (GF) provides financial support for life-saving and life-changing medical intervention for critically ill under-privileged children in areas of cancer, cardiac disorder, post organ transplant medication, thalassemia and extreme deformities. Support from GF in the said five critical illnesses, varies from specific medical intervention, recovery and recuperation, to extended treatments like chemotherapy and follow-up medicines post surgeries. We Give Life a Chance.

So far, Genesis Foundation has supported medical treatment of over 800 critically ill children. The children supported by the Foundation belong to families with an income of less than Rs.10,000 per month and the parents are unable to afford treatment of these children suffering from serious life threatening ailments.

100% of funds raised are dedicated towards treatment of critically ill children as all overhead costs are borne by the trustees. GF is registered under section 80-G of the Income Tax Act of 1961, which entitles 50% tax exemption.

9 CEOs Turned Chefs For Genesis Foundation’s CEOs Cook For GF Kids

The CEOs prepared gourmet meals for over 150 attendees to raise funds for 8 critically ill children

Gurgaon, February 06, 2016: The 12th edition of Genesis Foundation’s fundraiser CEOs Cook For GF Kids was held today, with 9 CEOs and industry stalwarts coming together and preparing delectable dishes at Gurgaon’s Hotel Crown Plaza Today. The attendees booked tables and sampled the delicious fare served by the celebrity chefs—all to help raise funds for 8 critically ill children.

The Saturday afternoon saw the otherwise serious and target-driven CEOs donning chef hats to prepare a dish of their choice and serve it to the attendees. The enthusiasm and expertise with which the CEOs indulged their cultinary talents had the attendees licking their fingers by the end. The proceeds from CEOs Cook For GF Kids will be utilised by Genesis Foundation to provide financial support for life-saving and life-changing medical intervention for 8 critically ill, underprivileged children.
