Sid began cooking around the age of eight and has retained a deep interest in food and cooking ever since. Setting aside a flourishing technical career from where he retired from software as a Vice President of Research & Development for medical electrophysiological diagnostics, Sid began food blogging in 2007; the beginning of Chef at Large.

Initially leaning towards learning different cooking techniques and cuisines, commercial cooking and ancient cooking both became topics of interest for him, which led to his diving into restaurant and product reviews, a category Chef at Large led and refined over the next 10 years.

Within Chef at Large, Sid works closely with all aspects of our platforms including editorial, social media, community engagement and so on. This is in addition to managing other organisational aspects such as sales, legal and finance among others.

Niren Chaudhary is now COO and President with Krispy Kreme. He has spent 23 years with yum Brands and was the Global President for KFC. He has also spent six years with Tata Administrative Service and was a graduate from St Stephens College. When he is not working, he is a musician and also has a black belt in karate.

A B.Tech from IIT Delhi and an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur Ajay has, in a career spanning 25 years, worked across diverse industries like Credit card, Airline, Express distribution, Logistics and now Food Service. He joined Jubilant FoodWorks Limited (erstwhile Domino’s Pizza India Limited and now also Dunkin’ Donuts) in 2005 and has been successfully leading Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd., making it the 1st company in QSR Industry, to be listed successfully on the stock market. Under the able guidance of Mr. Kaul, the company has had several notable recognitions, and he himself, has been honored with the “Outstanding CEO” by CEO India Inc. in 2014 among many others. His personal interests include Golf, Bridge, Music and social causes. His music idol is Kishore Kumar and he will present some memorable and melodious songs of our veteran artist.

Ranjan Chopra

CEO, Team Computers and Qla and Zorba

Ranjan is the CEO and the co-founder of Team Computers which is now a 500 crores plus IT integrator. He is also the CEO - Chief Experience Officer of Qla- the new European eatery near Qutub Minar. He likes to build and synthesize experiences at the intersection of entertainment and hospitality. He is also the Chief Celebrations Officer at Zorba.

He believes in dreaming and letting the dreams use him to let things happen. He has started dreaming of Tatva, a 50 acre place on a hilltop in Uttarakhand, where people can live surrounded by nature.

Ranjan loves music of all kinds- plays the saxophone and is also involved with a band called Lucca where they create Eastern and western sounds.

Sanjeev Varma

Sanjeev Varma is the CEO, of Altran India and is responsible for the overall Indian operations and strategy. Prior to joining Altran, he was the CEO of Steria India where he played a pivotal role in the integration of Xansa with Groupe Steria. Sanjeev was based out of US with HCL Technologies America before he joined Steria.

With around 35 years of experience, Sanjeev has controlled and marked focus in key business areas such as Business Planning Strategy, Corporate Finance and M&A. His expertise spans across management of global corporate strategies; building and maintaining talents across geographies; profitable turnaround of operations through effective business strategies; and building strong leadership teams.

Sanjeev has been conferred with several awards by Deloitte along with Thought leaders and Stars Group, as a “thinker and for the power of his ideas to transform in the IT arena”. Sanjeev also won the CEO of the Year Award at the Global Brand Excellence Awards in October 2013.

In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his family, watch movies and listen to music. Dr Sandeep (Sonu) Talwar

Clinical Director & IVF Consultant, Milann Fertility Centre

Dr Sonu Talwar is a leading Infertility specialist, with over 30 years of experience in virtually all facets of the diverse field of infertility. A beacon of hope to thousands of infertile couples, Dr Talwar did her senior residency at Safdarjung Hospital after which she honed her skills in reproductive medicine in France.

She started with the IVF Unit in Sir Gangaram Hospital, and later in 2011 established her own Infertility and IVF Department in B L Kapoor Hospital Delhi.

She has, over the years continued to study, teach, mentor and write. In addition to numerous papers that she has presented at various forums, has contributed a chapter on “Luteal Support – What to Use and When” in the book “Controlled Ovarian Stimulation in ART” published by Springer in 2015. She also contributed the chapter on “Laproscopic Ovarian Cauterization – How Many Punctures are Optimal” in the book “Reproductive Medicine – Challenges, Solutions and Breakthroughs” by, published by Jaypee Brothers.

At present the focus of her work is in the areas of management of recurrent implantation failure. And along with all of this she is also an amazing singer.

An alumnus of IIT Kanpur, Manoj has been in the Infrastructure business for the past 3 decades. Manoj founded Vibgyor Net-Connections and currently runs and innovative business under the name of “Novel Office Space”, an organisation running 3 Tech Parks in Bangalore, specialised in providing managed and serviced commercial offices. His love for music and passion for singing motivated him to launch a Bollywood themed Karaoke Club called DHUN. He believes that music is a phenomenal way to unwind and he, his wife Usha as well as both daughters are very musically inclined and indulge in quite a bit of music. He sings with his beautiful wife Usha. Manoj is also very actively involved in social groups like Round Table, Rotary, 41ers, to name a few.

Akshai Sarin

Akshai Sarin is the founder of BlessdBuy.com - a social enterprise transforming consumers into (social) contributors. It retails products only made by verified non-profits & underserved communities and 70% of its sales revenue goes to the maker. Akshai's professional experience spans 21 years in media, 14 years of global marketing, creative leadership and 6 years of social entrepreneurship. He is also a trained therapist conducting Intuitive Touch Healing, Chakra Clearing, Cranio Sacral Therapy and also a meditation and yoga instructor.

 

Since his first international album release in 1998, Akshai has performed everywhere from Serbia to Sydney; sharing the stage with artistes like Beyoncé and the Black Eyed Peas.

Mr Bhattacharyya is an ex additional solicitor general of India, ex country manager (India), International Banking at ANZ Grindlays Bank based in Mumbai and a visiting professor at IIM, Ahmedabad. He is also an author, a freelance columnist.

RANJAN CHOPRA

Ranjan Chopra, CEO & MD, Team Computer graduated from IIT-Kanpur in 1983 with a bachelors in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. A first generation entrepreneur, Ranjan founded Team Computer in 1987 and has never looked back since. Although technology is his first love, music comes as close second. It’s probably quite unexpected to find strains of a saxophone wafting from a CEOs office. But, with Ranjan his colleagues are used to it. If you catch him beyond his work hours, you’ll find him playing Elvis & Sinatra on the saxophone. He is also passionate about hospitality and fine dining. He has made his dreams come true through Zorba Entertainment – an event space, and Qla, a fine dining restaurant. Ranjan believes in giving back to the society with Aarogya Seva – 3D printed prosthetics, Friendicoes – animal welfare, Sarthak – care for the differently abled, The Earth Saviour Foundation – care for the elderly and underprivileged and Genesis Foundation – support for critically ill children with congenital heart defects.

SONAL DABRAL

Group Chief Creative Officer & Vice Chairman, Ogilvy India

Sonal Dabral was born in India and studied visual communication at India’s leading design school – the National Institute of Design.

Over a 30-year long career, he has led agencies to creative glory in 3 different markets across Asia.

At Ogilvy Mumbai in the '90s, he helped drive the agency to become India’s No.1 Creative Agency. He did the same with Ogilvy Kuala Lumpur, leading the office to become the most awarded in Malaysia and one of the region's hottest within just three years. In the process winning Malaysia’s first-ever gold at an international award show- a One Show Gold. Ogilvy Singapore was next, where he led his team to become No.1 in the Creative Ranking in Asia, and the Third Most Awarded Office in The World at Cannes Lions 2007 – a first for an Asian agency. He returned to India in 2011 to head Bates, followed by a stint at DDB Mudra.

Having spent a significant part of his career with the Ogilvy network, September 2017 saw a homecoming for Sonal as he took over the mantle of Vice Chairman and Group Chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy India.

Under his leadership, at the recent Campaign Agency of the Awards 2018, Ogilvy India was crowned the Creative Agency of the Year 2018.

Sonal’s work has earned numerous awards at top industry shows, and he has judged or chaired almost every major international and regional award show including Cannes lions, D&AD, the One Show, LIA, the ANDYs and Spikes Asia.

  

International advertising association (India Chapter) recently picked Sonal as the Creative Leader Of The Year for the year 2017.

 

A jack of all trades, in an earlier avatar Sonal has been a favourite TV host on prime-time television and a Bollywood scriptwriter. He debuted as an actor along with Shahrukh Khan in the popular TV serial Fauji. Later in the early nineties, he was the host of Philips Top 10 and few other popular TV shows. 

 

In November 2017, Sonal also debuted as a playwright when a play written by him was staged in Singapore.

Mr Navin Gurnaney, returned to India after thirty years of being overseas. He was a retail executive in the US for thirty years. A singer, actor and entrepreneur! Navin now lives in Bombay and is married with two daughters.

Dr Thomas Chandy

CMD, and Chief of Orthopaedics, HOSMAT Hospitals

An Orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Chandy enjoys singing, and has been the lead vocalist for a Bangalore based band called Jazz n Rock Revival. He founded HOSMAT HOSPITAL, an Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, and Accident trauma centre which also runs 3 charitable foundations. Dr Chandy started "The Dr Thomas Chandy Foundation," to help poor students He started a scholarship for a deserving medical student at St. Johns Medical College, and a scholarship fund at the Bangalore School of music. Music has been his passion and he studied music in New York, when he was training to be an Orthopaedic surgeon and has a worldwide collection of musical instruments.  He sings in Spanish and English with equal ease.

Philipe Haydon

Mr Haydon, who began his career with the company in 1979 is now CEO of The Himalaya Drug Company. It’s the first and only paying job he’s ever held.

Himalaya's rock star CEO who handles guitar and vocal duties in a band called Ministry of Blues, has spent the last three and a half decades doing a serious Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde act. Working for Himalaya by day and playing high energy music by night!

His philosophy is “If you do something, do it well or don’t do it at all.” The guitar playing, as well as his role at Himalaya are attacked with equal intensity.

Arati Rao

Founder, B-Flat

Having been an advertising film and music professional, and an artist and singer -songwriter, Arati Rao has constantly been re-inventing herself. After singing for advertising jingles she then fronted her jazz and blues quartet, and eventually created her own band, KAYA - which presents her own lyrics and compositions in a very contemporary production style. She has been responsible for supporting and encouraging independent music by creating a live music platform for musicians. One of the founders of Bangalore's BFlat Bar, a highly respected live music venue, Arati Rao fulfils a vision to create a platform for quality live music in Bangalore.

Anand Anandkumar

PhD, Co-Founder CEO of Bugworks

Co-founder and CEO of Bugworks, a start-up based out of Delaware USA and Bangalore India, focused on designing new antibiotics to tackle the global problem of Superbugs. Anand was previously Chairman and Managing Director at Cellworks Research India Pvt. Ltd, a start-up which is globally recognised as having pioneered the use of Systems Biology to design new therapies in Oncology.

He is also the managing Trustee of CHILD, a home that takes care of children orphaned by HIV/AIDS, and an advisor to ALERT an NGO that promotes public awareness in basic life-saving skills like CPR.

Anand received his BE in Electronics and Communication from CEG, Anna University, India, and a MS and PhD in Electrical and Biomedical engineering from George Washington University in Washington D.C. Anand was most recently featured as number 6 in the list of top 100 emerging voices in the Indian start-up scenes. Anand has also co-founded Impres and EVA, two accelerators for Biotech companies in India and is a mentor to many companies in this sector.


Aruna Chandran Anandkumar

Founder and Director of Bright Beginnings Montessori Preschool

Aruna Chandran Anandkumar is the Founder and Director of Bright Beginnings Montessori Preschool in Whitefield, Bangalore. She has an MBA in International Business from the George Washington University in Washington D.C. Aruna started her career at the World Bank in Washington DC, where she spent six years. After taking a break from work to raise her two children, she founded Bright Beginnings Montessori Preschool in Whitefield in 2004. It was primarily the pursuit of an ideal Montessori preschool for her daughter as well as her exposure to being a teacher to her young children in the US schooling system along with an inner calling to dedicate herself to the cause of holistic early education that saw the birth of Bright Beginnings.

As a hobby he has been singing and performing since the age of six. He has performed on radio and was part of Band Dwani, during his college days.

Balachandar Chidambaram

Balachandar Chidambaram had been trained in Carnatic music for 8 years and has been performing since his school days. He has performed live at Aaradhanas and Bharatanatyam shows. He also dabbles at light music, a less-serious form of Western classical music. He has been in Oracle since 2018 and has regularly performed at Company Day and Family Day events. He can sing in all 4 South Indian languages (Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada) and Hindi as well. He can also play the Kazoo. He started a YouTube channel in 2019, where he uploads his Karaoke and stage performance videos.
